McDowall Acres is the creation of Sonny & Dana McDowall. It's where they called home, raised five children, a host of animals and welcomed numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family farm first started in Lawrenceville, Georgia where Francis "Sonny" McDowall, a Navy WWII pilot, settled when he started his lifelong career with Delta Airlines. In 1998, The McDowalls sold their land in Lawrenceville and moved their cherished house up the mountain to Blairsville, Georgia and created this horse-lover's haven. Three of the McDowall daughters and one grandson now live on the property and hope to honor their parents' welcoming demeanor by opening their beloved farm to other families looking to create lasting memories.
